Does anyone have darts? The kind you throw?

We need some (3) darts for a booth at the ward carnival this weekend. Anyone have three darts they are willing to let us use and return afterward?

Please email me if you do! nancyjones@psu.edu

Free Cultural Event

This Saturday evening at 6pm at the church, Joseph Hopkins will present a fireside about Eric Whitacre's special choir composition "When David Heard that Absalom was Slain." This amazing piece was inspired by just one verse in the Old Testament:

King James Bible; II Samuel, 18:33:

When David heard that Absalom was slain he went up into his chamber over the gate and wept, my son, my son, O Absalom my son, would God I had died for thee!

It is beautiful and a favorite of the BYU singers.

Bring your families and get some culture in your life!

Who's Your Granddaddy?

Come to the Family Fun Fair! "Who's Your Granddaddy?"

Saturday March 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Church

There are still spots available for you to share something about your family: make the space look like your family traditions, highlight a special ancestor or country of origin, share what makes your family special! (please leave valuable heirlooms at home, though :)

Bring a treat special to your family (is it the cookies that your grandma made? is it a dip you never have a party without? is it the popcorn you make for family home evening?).

Come create your family coat of arms with your kids.

Come learn how to start (or restart) your family history.

Email Nancy Jones with any questions or to sign up for display space. We'll be setting up Friday evening from 6:30–8:00p.m. or before the activity until 8:45 a.m.

Linger Longer This Sunday!

We're having a potluck get-together right after church this Sunday. Bring some finger-foods to snack on and come make new friends!

Please comment with what you plan to bring so we can keep it varied and make sure there's enough. Just make sure it can be eaten without any utensils and doesn't require heating. So, cookies, popcorn, veggies, fruit—stuff like that.

Ward Picnic a Success

Thanks to everyone for the fun time at the picnic! Though it was way too hot, the food was great and the company even better. Thank you for bringing your tasty potluck salads, sides, and treats!

Enjoy some pictures of everyone melting.

Hershey Ward Picnic

Hello! I hope you've all heard about the picnic by now, but if not, here's your chance to get the 411. I've created an evite and sent it to several ladies already, but I don't have everyone's addresses, so be patient as I collect them.

If you just can't wait to volunteer your fabulous salad, side dish, or dessert, there are lots of options:

1. sign up in one of the Relief Society binders
2. view the evite here
3. leave a comment on this post
4. email me at nancyjones@psu.edu

I found a map to the park here, and as much as I wish it were from google, it's not. (Thank Brother Hintze for the bing.com tip.)
