It gave me the courage to use the Rite Aid in-ad coupon in combination with a MFR coupon this week. Here is the excerpt from a CSR:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I have provided our CouponPolicy for future reference;
All coupons must have a valid expiration date. Manufacture coupons are limited to one an item. Rite Aid in-house coupons that begin with RC48 and RC49 in the barcodes can be used with a manufacturer's coupon. You can use a manufacturer's coupon with a Rite Aid coupon as long as the two combined do not exceed the amount of the item you are purchasing. Competitor's in-house coupons are not honored at any Rite Aid store. Some manufacturers coupons do not have a specific set price on them - it will be up to what the item costs or a certain dollar amount and must be written in by cashier. Internet coupons will only be accepted if they are printed from our website. No other coupons will be accepted when printed from any other website.Our policy does not prevent customers from using a BOGO coupon as a form of tender for items already on a BOGO sale.This is a Corporate Policy, so you may refer to this anytime you have anissue when using a coupon at any Rite Aid Store.

Heavy Duty Hangers

Hershey Freecycle

Many of you may know about this already, but there's a great Yahoo Group called Herhsey Freecycle. You can post anything you want to give away, and someone in the group can email you to pick it up. The only rule is that it has to be free. I've been a member for awhile and it's really fun. You can also post if you're looking for or need a specific item, everyone is very nice. I've gotten a few really great things and have been able to help out a few people, too.

I was at Jo-Ann's tonight looking for a couple of things and they have all their Christmas stuff on sale at 70% off and they had tons of way cute things left!! If you are looking to bulk up on your decorations for next year, this is the place to do it!

This is the true story of a 5-yr old Lititz girl, Hannah Garman, who
was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a rare and incurable
brain tumor. She has been given 12 weeks to live and is currently in
her 7th week. She was going to be the flower girl at a wedding in
May, but was diagnosed a week after we asked her to be the flower
girl. This is especially sad because her mother died 2 yrs ago from
breast cancer.

Right now she has lost most of her motor skills. She is confined to
bed and cannot really do anything or play with the gifts she is
getting from people, but she LOVES getting cards - she has gotten so
many from people she does not know and just loves to have grandma
read about the people who send them and see their pictures and is so
proud of all her cards. Her room is just filled with cards.

When asked what she wants for Christmas she said she wants to see
how many Christmas cards she can get. Many people have passed this
wish along to their churches, prayer groups, friends and family.
There are school groups where children are making her cards. People
are including pictures so she can see who it is that is sending her
the card.

THANKS! Feel free to pass this along to your own prayer group,
church, school, etc. Let's see if we can have the cards coming in
big postal bags for her this Christmas, since it will be her last
holiday.


December 15. . . We just heard more accurate details about Hannah
through her grandmother, Mrs. Robert Garman. Hannah's father is
Darren Garman and she has 2 older siblings, ages 9 and 12.

Hannah does not yet know her diagnosis. She is 4 years old with a
birthday coming up in January. At this time, Hannah is able to kick
her legs, help pull herself up in bed, can put weight on one leg,
but is unable to put the other one down, sit in a wheel chair, can
open her own cards with a little help (she received 30 today), play
with play dough, color, and do crafts. She is unable to walk and her
head falls to one side.

The drain didn't work so they put a shunt in which has relieved her
of her headaches. Today was a good day for Hannah. She is going to
Hershey Hospital tomorrow to have a port put in.

Interesting history is that Hannah's mother had bone cancer at age
13. She had breast cancer while carrying Hannah and she was told
that Hannah would be abnormal. Instead Hannah has been a very
brilliant child.

I know the K-Mart double coupons has been blogged about, but I have to tell you the virtues of the great Luvs deal. If you buy 3 big boxes you get 5$ off your entire purchase. In the paper and in the mail there have been several 2$ off Luvs diaper coupons. They have been in the body of the paper, not in the adds. In the mail a mailer came around Monday or Tuesday before Thansgiving with a 2$ off Luvs coupon. These DOUBLE you get 4$ off per box. They also have 1$ off Luvs coupons peel off where you buy the diapers if you didn't save your paper/flyer ones. Still $15.32 for a box of diapers is a good deal.

She said it's hit or miss, they get new things in all the time, but you can get toys, clothes, shoes, gift baskets, all kinds of stuff for super cheap. She said it's fun to go on a Friday and to go to the Farmers Market and Vintage Corner (they're all around the same area).

BLANKETS NEEDED

"We’re collecting used (fair to good condition) and new blankets for the homeless in Harrisburg. Each time we do any outreach projects in Harrisburg, we are amazed how great the need is – there are many homeless and “near” homeless people living in the city. Any used or new blankets could be used. You may drop them at the office 337 west chocolate ave (behind rite-aid) from 7:30 am to 5 pm or on our side porch at 66 Cedar Ave.

Mike would really like to surprise the director with a lot of blankets, so any help would be appreciated (Mike will deliver the blankets to Harrisburg December 6th)

Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops

Need something to do when its cold outside? Take your little ones to see Santa and the fish, at Bass Pro Shops at the Harrisburg Mall.Right now they are doing Santas Wonderland. The best part is, everything is free. The boys got to write/color letters to Santa and put them in the mailbox at the store. They talked to Santa and played with some remote control cars. All while being indoor and warm. Its a fun thing to do for FREE! Plus you if you plan it right, you can watch the scuba diver get into the fish tank and feed the fish. Feeding times are posted at the store, but its usually around 1:00.

You do have to pay about 6% tax, but the church pays all the shipping! All you have to do is sweep out the space under you bed and start cramming #10 cans in there. It is a little more expensive than doing it yourself at the stake cannery, but it is still a screaming good deal. And, hey, I like beans.

Chicken quarters for $.39 lb if you buy 10 lbs at Karns. $.49 lb if you buy less. We took the meat home, tossed in the crock pot, and have been living on it all week. Sale good through Monday.

Quick Shopping Trip . . . . Saved 40%

If you don't think the news paper is worth it, THINK AGAIN! It is very rare that I leave the grocery store without saving at least 40% off the bill. Today was no different.This is what I got at Giant:
This was a pretty easy list, no thinking or "game playing" involved armed simply with coupons, 1 raincheck for the hot cocoa and the grocery store ad. The total bill came to $101.16, but then I gave the cashier my bonus card and coupons and voila! . . . the total came to $59.85 that is a 40% savings! PLUS, I earned 76 points towards a free turkey (I'm now over my 300 points needed! . . about $20), and I earned 476 gas points putting me right at 901 meaning since my tank is empty so I will go down this afternoon and fill up about 15 gallons at roughly $1.30/gallon and save another $13.50.
This 1 trip saved more than the amount it costs for a 52 week subscription (using the coupon code from the entry below!)
and lets not forget about all the Jo-Ann, Michael's and A.C. Moore coupons it brings to you door :)

Gap Backpacks for girls $1.97 lunch totes .97

I ran into the Gap outlet this morning to grab a white t-shirt and saw that they have marked their girls' school backpacks down to $1.97 and $3.97 (for a large one w/ a hard bottom)!! They're nice backpacks--pink with butterflies, a bunch of pockets, and a change purse. I bought Cadence one for next year and a couple for gifts. They also have matching lunch totes for 97 cents. Cranium Game Books 3/$5.00

I just got back from the Book Cellar at the outlet center here in Hershey. They have lots of Cranium books (based on the board game for ages 7+) These books are in a nice hard bound cover with well over 100 activities and trivia, some even include a mini board game etc. There are 3 or 4 varieties that I saw. There would be GREAT for traveling, Christmas, and especially to have on hand for birthdays (great for boys or girls!) They are at the back of the store, facing the front. The best part is that they are originally $14.99 each and they are now . . . 3/$5.00! I just picked up 6 :)
