Family Field Trip

For those of you who may not have received an evite to Sycamore Spring but would like more information please email me and I will forward the information. I do not have everyone's addresses or may have thought you wouldn't be interested as I tried to make sure sure I invited the families in the ward with young"ish" children (sorry to assume!). Or I may have typed in your information incorrectly. The more the merrier!

Houses

If anyone is in the market for a house, there are 2 options by us. Hopefully that doesn't deter you :)

The first is a house for rent 2 houses down from us. It's a nice 2 floor red brick house with a full walk-out basement and garage. 4 bedrooms and 1 1/2 bathrooms. It has mostly hardwood and a fireplace in the living room. There's a nice shaded backyard with mature trees. 12 95 /month, they pay for garbage and sewage.

The 2nd is a house for sale across the street from us. It's a quaint cape cod with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It has hardwood in the living room and dining room, and a fireplace as well. There's a nice backyard with raspberry and blackberry bushes and a swingset/sandbox playset. Parking on Governor or behind in a detached garage with access from the alley. They asking 186,000, but I know they are putting in an offer already on another house, so are willing to negotiate.
Anyway, I thought I'd pass on the info!

Party Planner or Pooper?

Does anyone want any Luau or New Year's party supplies? Invitations, decorations, napkins, hats, cups, few balloons etc. You get all the leftovers!

Hershey Park Ticket

We went to Hershey Park yesterday used a deal where you had to buy 4 tickets. Since Logan is free we have a ticket left over. We'll sell it to you for $15. The regular price is around $50 and if you buy them at Giant they're still close to $40. Let me know if you want it.

Food Storage Thoughts

So, I've been watching the prices of grains and such with all the announcements out there--wild fires destroying the wheat fields in Russia and Russia cancelling all exporting of the grain at least until the end of the year; France having issues with their wheat fields; here in the US the wheat growers in the west are very concerned about the infestation of grasshoppers. The newpaper articles are telling everyone not to fear; that there is plenty of wheat and there will be no wheat shortage...if you want more info on this respond to this and I can send you a link.

Long and short of it is that the prices for wheat are going up pretty steadily. I just ordered some from the Honeyville Grain Company and it is great quality. Their shipping rate is $4.49 no matter what or how much you order. Yes, $4.49 for the entire order. I was wondering if anyone wanted to order anything from them in the next month???? Please take a look at their site and perhaps we can get an order together by the end of September. They have great stuff...even some items in smaller sizes. Their website is www.honeyvillegrain.com.

Furniture for Sale

Emma is moving and she's trying to sell her stuff--she's leaving in like 2 or 3 days!!

She has:

BED SET: A nice full bed with mattress, box springs (the bed has shelves and a mirror) and is solid wood. It comes with a dresser with a mirror, a chest of drawers and a nightstand. It's a really great set!! I can't believe she's selling it--I wish I could have brought it out here myself for my house. She'd like $250 for the whole set but has to sell it in 2 days so she's flexible!

She has three bookcases--a short one and a tall one. She would sell them for $10 for the small one and $15 for either big one. They aren't fancy but they're already assembled. The small one is black and the large ones are both solid wood and brown. One of the big ones is tall and one is wide.

She has a kitchen table and 2 chairs which is not especially nice but functional. She would sell it for $25.

She has a computer desk and chair which are only a year old, she would sell them for $35 for both.

She has some other random things she would like to get rid of (pots and pans, etc). If you want some free housewares, let her know. Also anyone who is buying something can rummage through and get some free stuff! (Like a shelving unit for the bathroom).

Ward Picnic and Gelder Park Directions

Looking for

Does anyone have a walker or jump-a-roo thing that they are not currently using that I could possibly borrow for a little while? Lily is a busy little bee and I need something to contain her and keep her happy. I just want to see if she will use something like that before I make an investment. Thanks, Wendy

I have room for some more quilt squares on Marie's baby quilt if anyone is interested. I can drop them off at your house or bring them to church. I know there were a lot of people that couldn't make it last night, but that doesn't mean you can't contribute. And even if you think you aren't artistic or crafty there is still room for you. Boys Clothes

I have received a bunch of hand-me-downs from several friends and have way more clothes than Logan needs. The clothes I am currently giving away are all size 2T. Most are from Old Navy and Osh Kosh. There is one Levi Strauss corduroy jacket that I wish I could keep but we have several jackets already. If anyone would like them you're more than welcome to them. I can bring them tomorrow to Church and you can have a quick look through them or take the whole bag home if you want. Just let me know.
