Just went to Honeybear this morning. I was there around 10:30 am and the Bartlett pears were already gone! He said two large groups came early and cleaned them out. Just thought you would want to know. Boss pears arent going to be good until the end of Sept,first part of Oct.

Do you know about Rite Aid rebates? I didn't until this week. I just went to Rite Aid where I bought a bunch of items and will turn around and send my receipt in the mail (or submit it online) and will receive a single rebate check in the mail. This week you can get FREE Duck Brand EZ Packing Tape, FREE Fast Itching Relief, Compound W for .99 and Pert Plus for .99. They had rebates for all sorts of things and lots of buy one get one free for instant savings. I generally don't shop there because I'd feel like I'd gotten robbed if I paid full price for anything but if I'm driving by, I may as well pick up a few freebies or almost free things and have them around should I ever need them. At the front of the store they have a Rebate Directory for the entire month. I noticed that if you buy $25 worth of Kimberly-Clark/Genreal Mills/SC Johnson/Hefty you can get a $5 rebate. If you're really savvy, you can use the coupons from the Sunday paper and really load up for $20. If you buy 4 Colgate toothpastes, you get a $10 rebate (use a Sunday coupon!). Buy 3 Oral-B toothbrushes get a $10 rebate. 3 Reach toothbrushes get a $10 rebate.

Chocolate Gift Tree

This afternoon at Chocolate World, in the over-stock section, they had a $45-50 gift tree for $12.95. It had a gold box filled with miniatures, a gold box with a BIG chocolate bar that had 3 kisses imprinted on it, a gold Hershey's tin filled with chocolate pretzels and a small box with 4 special chocolates. You could either send it "as is" (it's in a nice box for shipping) or take the tree apart and give individual gifts- bus drivers, school teachers, neighbors, etc.

Make sure you pick up the grocery ad for Giant this week if you don't already get the Sunday paper. There are 4 "double your $1 off" coupons **total bill after coupons etc. must come to $15+ to use these. This is a GREAT time to use some of those $1.00 coupons you have been holding on to. They are especially helpful for items that are already on sale this week.

Also, there is a deal for all you mom's with school kids trying to save the "Box tops for Education" labels, you can earn 50 bonus labels at checkout if you purchase 8 participation items at 1 time (see the ad for listed items). One of those items is bags of Chex snack mix at 4/$5. If you go here you can print a coupon 2 time at save $1/bag!! (that's .25/bag!) I just received my "Fall into savings at Costco.com" and saw that they have an emergency food kit (6 days for 2 people) for 74.99 ($10 off) and it includes all sorts of goodies, not just food. Autumn Day

You will want to mark your calendar for this...Autumn Day at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. It will be on Saturday, September 20th. It's so fun and the best part is that everything is free...and it was fun to run into familiar families looking for a fun, free event! Free hot dogs, free brats, free drinks, free popcorn, free french fries, free cotton candy, free ice cream, free soup, free games, free prizes, free helium balloons, free clowns that pass out free stickers, free face-painting, free bagpipers and Scottish dancing, etc. We've gone the past two years and look forward to it with great anticipation. You can buy gorgeous mums for around $5 on your way out.
Also, last year we picked apples and pumpkins there and had a great time. I can't remember the price per pound but it was reasonable. The number for the Masonic Village Farmer's Market is 361-4520. You usually cannot pick apples or pumpkins the same day as the Autumn Day event, just so you know.

Chapter 11

Bosk-ovs has claimed chapter 11 bankruptcy. It will be liquidated after this Friday. Right now there are mega sales. I had to find out what Bosk-ovs was and it is a store similar, but bigger, (it has furniture and home decor too) than Meyer and Frank. Many items are 75% off and most everything is at least 30% off. You can wait until after Friday, but things are getting picked over. The closest Bosk-ovs is in the Harrisburg mall by Bass Pro Shop.

My neighbor friend gave me the "scoop" on a good deal at Hershey Park. She said at the Turkey Hill ice cream stand by the Reese's ride she asks for 3 kid cones (not on the menu), shows her season pass and it always costs under $4.00...with sprinkles.

I have a huge bag of some of Emma's outgrown clothes. I think they are mostly size 5 &6, the shoes are size 12. There are play clothes and some nicer. I cannot remember exactly what is in there, much of it is summer as I gave a lot of winter stuff away to Goodwill a few months ago.

I also have a white microwave about 5 yrs old, works great. It was just too large for my cozy kitchen. It has been in the garage for about a year so it does need a bath.

CHEAP tomatoes!!!

Hold on to your socks...1/2 bushels of tomatoes at Risser Marvel Farms are $4.99. I had him repeat himself twice because I couldn't believe it. He said they have a lot to move. I had called Strites just prior and they are $11 something per 1/2 bushel. Have you tried Suzette Bryce's salsa? If not, you're in for a real treat. Her salsa has changed my life. I know she is planning on teaching salsa soon but if you want a head start, head to Risser Farms. I'M SO EXCITED!!

Coupon Saving Family

I couldn't wait to get home and tell Chris about my shopping at Giant today where I had a bill of $93.00, then gave my coupons and bonus card, then only had to pay $62.00 and even earned .80 off in gas rewards (additional savings of about$12. on an empty tank).
However, after seeing the shopping trip listed above, I obviously have lots to learn!

Kohls is selling 4 different hardcover Eric Carle books and 4 different big plush stuffed animals that coordinate with the books for $5 each. Brown Bear, Brown Bear is an absolute favorite among kids of all ages. My kindergartners couldn't get enough of it and the nursery kids too. Makes a great gift!

Sliver Leaf Family tree Frames

Pottery Barn Kids Outlet in Lancaster has a great deal on all their pictures frames. They are 40-60 % off depending on the style. I have been coveting their family tree frame, and it was finally on sale! Just 14.95! Heres what it looks like:
They had quite a few, but I would get down their ASAP if you want one. I thought it looked kind of "Mormony" so I was happy about it.

Also, lots of their bedding is on sale. I got a ton of crib sheets and even a few crib skirts (for gifts) for 50 cents! It is a great deal if you are in need of some baby stuff! Sadly for me, most of the bedding is for girls.

$2 off $10 purchase at CVS

CVS has a new $2 of $10 purchase, you can get it here. There are several items this week that you can get pretty cheap/free with coupons from Sunday's paper.

I just found out that the Hershey Library is having their annual book sale until 2:00 on Thursday afternoon. Apparently this is a great way to buy cheap books (I haven't been yet, but I am planning to go today). I have heard that they have really cheap books and that towards the end they mark the prices WAY down.

Peaches are on!

I just talked to the nice people at Honey Bear Orchard in Annville and they have peaches ready! The cost for pick-you-own is $9.00 for a 1/2 bushel (about 25 pounds) which comes to about $.36/pound! If you buy more than 4 of the 1/2 bushels it's $8.00 each. So take a friend and buy them all together. Then can like crazy :)
Our family loves to go pick the peaches there . . . great for FHE activity. We have gotten them there for the past 2 years and they are always soo yummy.

In Sunday’s paper, there is a two page spread of coupons for Kellogg’s products and also a coupon for a $10 mail-in rebate if you purchase 10 qualifying products. At Giant, they have a lot of those products on sale this week. There are a bunch of different products you could get depending on what your family would eat. Here’s what we’re getting:

(2) Keebler Sandwich cracker packs $2 = $4
(2) Yogos Boxes 2 for $3.32 -$1 coupon = $2.32

Princess Shoes for $2.99

One of my girls is obsessed with Ariel. Last night at a b-day party a little girl was wearing light-up Sketcher type Ariel sneakers so I inqired. They are at the Disney Outlet for 2.99. I have refused to but shoes with cartoons on them in the past but I caved. They're cute! They have sizes 11 and 1/2. Hurry! They also have lots of princess water sandals in all sizes. Not as cute but if your kids are princess obsessed you can't beat the price.
