Penn American Water Rate Changes

Okay fellow coupon clippers,
I just received a notice of proposed rate changes from Pennsylvania American Water. It sounds like bologna to me..."Penn American Water's capital spending program is aligned with the federal government's focus on the need for significant ongoing investment to address the country's aging water infrastructure." BLAH BLAH. Key words: federal goverment. I thought Mr. President gave billions of our tax dollars for stuff like this. I'll stop there (but I encourage you to read Lori Burns new blog- if you want the address just ask). Our monthly bills will increase by $6.00 a month.
The proposal listed 3 actions we can take to challenge the request that could delay the change until January 2010.
Those of us who would like to spend our paychecks the way we see fit need to consider taking action. Some of us put a whole lot of time into clipping coupons, accepting hand-me-downs and bargain hunting to put up with this.

Size 7 girl sandals

It's my latest fascination. I can't eat enough of it and it's getting rather expensive. I decided to buy the toasted seaweed sheets at Giant and couldn't believe that 5 sheets cost over $5. I used to get 10 sheets for under $4 in California and Missouri. I went ahead and got a couple boxes but they will be gone before sunset. Has anyone seen them for less at Weis or Karns??

Also, if anyone else enjoys sushi, let me know. We'll get together.

Free Tide

I have an almost new box of 120 loads of Tide Mountain Fresh or something like that, but it seems a bit too strong for my kid's skin. If you can use it, let me know.

Flower Power

Is anyone interested in getting together to make flower hair clips? My vision: we get together in my backyard and create while the kids play on a sunny day. Lemonade, muffins, lots of chit chat. Since strands of flowers can have a dozen or more flowers on them, we can share flowers, ribbon, and the little decorative brads. I have enough foamy stuff that helps keep the clips in fine or thin hair. Just let me know if you are interested.

Linens N things

I've been doing some closet cleaning and found my old Queen bed linen set. It's in pretty good condition. (the duvet cover is missing one button, but that would be a quick fix.)

I know we are doing the trash to treasures, but I might not be able to come since I watch twins that evening, so I thought I would put it up for grabs on here first.

The Duvet and two standard shams are from Restoration Hardware and the sheets are Nautica.(fitted sheet flat sheet and 4 standard pillow cases.) My sister in Law also made a matching bed skirt and there are three decorative pillows as well.

I loved this set, but it's a queen size and when we moved here we got a King so they have been sitting happily in the closet and need a better home!

I also have a blue and white striped Queen sheet set to give away.

And a Pottery Barn Kids Red gingham crib skirt and lime green diaper holder.

Open Gym at GCH

The Gymnastics Center of Hershey off 743 has open gym on Fridays from 10-3pm. It is $5 per hour (classes are $12.50 per hour). The sign said to call ahead if you are going to show up after 1:30. It is SUPER fun to play there. Heather and I did cartwheels with our kids during a class the other week and neither one of us broke or sprained anything!!!!

I just ran into Karns quickly and picked up yesterday's paper (my subscription ran out last week so I am waiting the 4 weeks till they "beg" me to come back with a great 40-50% off :) . . . anyway, the Giant ad in the paper has several double your $1 off coupons and TONS of other coupons! Worth picking up 1 or 2 at the store or gas station!

I grabbed a bottle of Kedem Sparlking Juice because it looked fancy and thought my girls might enjoy it in some goblets on Easter Sunday. It was on sale for $2, originally 4.89, which blew my mind that they would sell for that high a price. Anyway, there is a tag on the bottle that says "Save up to $9.00- Receive a $1.50 Mail-in Rebate for Each Bottle Up to 6 Bottles" There is no expiration.
So, you can get several bottles for 50 cents each.
They had several flavors- I chose sparkling peach and should've picked up more!

I am needing to buy some printer paper and they have it on sale at Staples for a GREAT deal. It is normally at case for $25.00 ($50.00 for 2), but it is BOGOF (after mail in rebate).
