School Kids Hershey Story Bracelet last day for free admission tomorrow June 30th.
For all you who had kids in school in Hershey last year who got the brown bracelet with Hershey Story written on it, the last day to use that as a free admission for your child is tomorrow (June 30th)! I took Makayla today having forgotten and was glad I used it while I could. If you have an AAA membership you can also get an additional 10% discount on your ticket. We really enjoyed it.
If you can do the chocolate lab experience I would go for it, but of course it costs extra. There are different classes you can choose from, you just have to check the schedule online and see what they are doing that day. The one we did we got to make our own candy bar and listened to them talk about the chocolate making process and Milton Hershey. It was a really fun outing.

Quilt Tying Playgroup
I am setting up 1 (maybe 2) quilts to tie for the Shalom House in my back yard tomorrow at 10:00 am. All are welcome to bring your kids and help us meet our goal of 20 quilts by the end of the year (hopefully sooner!) We have gotten 12 done and 8 to go! Bring your kids to play, a snack to share if you want and a friend. I'm hoping to be done by noon.

Fabric Headbands from Puddle Jumper Shoes Warehouse Sale

I just returned from Utah and brought with me the cutest fabric headbands from the Puddle Jumper Shoes warehouse sale. They have had them at the last two sales, but not on line. They are darling! I have a few and love wearing them, and they are great for young girls too. They work for long and short hair. They have velcro tabs underneath so that they stay in your hair and tie with grow grain ribbon in the back. There are florals, polka dots, stripes, ginghams, and geometric prints. They retail for $16, but I got them for the warehouse wholesale price of $6. So if anyone is interested in cute headbands for $6, you can stop by on Thursday, June 18th in the afternoon from 1-4 pm, or feel free to call me at (717) 482-2080 or my cell (801)918-0706 and we can arrange a different time. They make great gifts. I plan on sending some as birthday gifts as they will mail easily within a card/envelope and won't cost much to mail. My mom mailed 2 headbands to a cousin serving a mission in Brazil and it only cost her $1.76!! And my cousin loved them!

Great deal on diapers
Check to see if you have any diaper coupons to use in conjunction with Kmarts double coupon days. I had $5, $2 and $1.50 off coupons for Huggies and realized once I got there that if you spend certain dollar amounts, you get money toward your next purchase on anything in the store. For example, if you spend $50 you get $14. Not a bad deal. You might have a coupon for Huggies shampoo/conditioner or body wash and they are currently $3 for 10 so you can get a bottle for $1.00. Those are also included in the money back thing they have going.

The Semi-Annual Red Balloon Sale started today and it's GREAT! The photo above is the items I got for a friend. I am too embarrassed to post what I found for my own kids. The tops were 2.99-3.99. One of the swimsuits was 3.99 and the other 6.99. They had darling dresses for 5.99-9.99, denim shorts for 7.99, etc. Right now they have a great selection of sizes so if you're buying multiple sizes to match kids you'll be in luck if you go now.
I did see the boys clothes and I bought a bunch of 6-12 months for next summer because I couldn't resist so if I'm having another girl they will go back unless someone wants to take a look and get a great deal (I did get baby girl stuff too because most likely that's what I'll really need!). Just so you know, in case you're in the same situation, I asked them if they'd be mad if I came and returned everything I got for a boy if I didn't need it and they said they wouldn't mind a bit- they'd do the same thing because by Tuesday most everything will be gone.

Hairbows Anyone?
So I have been trying to organize my ribbon somewhat this morning and decided it's time to thin out my supply. . . . .
Anyone interested in coming to make hairbows at my house on Thursday, June 18th from 10am-1pm. There will be a charge of $1.25 per bow for supplies. I have alligator clips only so if you want something different, you will need to bring it. I have 3 glue guns, but if you have 1, feel free to bring it. This is the perfect chance to accessorize that summer wardrobe for your little girlies. Maybe even bring a list of colors you might need so you don't forget any outfits :)
We'll set up a table out back under the shade tree and let the kids run wild in the rest of the yard. Please leave a comment if you are interested in coming so I have a little bit of an idea what to plan on :)

cheap dance stuff
A friend told me about this place, I am tempted to visit on our way out of town! She said around this time (after all the dance shows), you can get costumes and dance stuff super cheap and also a couple times a year they have huge sales where you can get things for $1.

EAST PROSPECT FACTORY OUTLET
at 16 West Maple Street in East Prospect PA is located 4 miles from Wrightsville in York County. It is the factory outlet for Curtain Call Costumes, a leading recital costume manufacturer. The outlet has basic dance class supplies, including leotards, tights, skirts, ballet slippers and jazz shoes--- but not pointe shoes. The staff are very nice but not that experienced at fitting ballet shoes. The outlet also has gymnastic and swim wear. The best thing is its amazing variety of dance costumes. The selection varies by season but it is a great place to find dress up clothes. From Lancaster take Rte 30 W to the Wrightsville Exit, turn left and drive straight on Cool Creek Rd and contine straight through on Cabin Creek Rd. (approx 4 miles in a country setting). Summer Activities
Now that summer is here and school is out, I wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of the weekly playgroup. There was a brief change of schedule to Wednesdays, but due to popular demand, it has been changed back to FRIDAYS at 10 AM. Please email me (amber.brueseke at gmail dot com) for the schedule of park locations. The locations have not changed, so if you already emailed me, the play group will still be at the same parks, just on Friday instead of Wednesday.
On Wednesday there are weekly free kids “shows” and performances at the Chocolatetown Square. (little park at the corner or Cocoa and Chocolate). See earlier post for schedule here.

Stuff
In a continuing effort to get rid of things, here are a couple I found.
This Princess castle and little things to go with it were hiding in my basement. Double click for bigger picture. I have the receipt for it and actually only paid $5 for it at Wal-Mart and thought before I take it back for a return, I would see if any of you would like it for $5. It's darling cute, but we just don't need it.
Then there are these AWESOME FHE files that were given to me a couple of years ago. They actually cover the 2nd 1/2 of the alphabet but there is SOOO many lessons here. They will make some family very happy :)

Their peak week is this next week, but they said they will be open all June. At the end of the season they usually have a weekend for gleaners where the strawberries are FREE. I've gone before and you usually can't pick enough if you really want to do some canning, but it's nice to top off your supply. It's a bit of a drive (around 45 minutes) but it's the cheapest place around.

Children's Festival
The Derry Township Police Department will host a Children's Festival on June 20th in front of the Hershey High School from 10-2pm. We went last year. It was HOT but the kids collected all sorts of things- toothbrushes, candy, cotton candy, stickers, candy bars, prizes, etc. They have emergency vehicles on display and the kids can get inside and ask questions.
