Triple Coupons at Giant

It seems that there is some confusion on the 3x coupons at Giant this week. I have had a couple of people call me so I called Giant and here's the deal. Honestly, I too was a little confused as they did not print the maximum coupon face value on the triple coupons themselves, so here it is . . . . A household can use up to 6 triple your coupon coupons during this week with a minimum purchase of $15 after coupons and discounts. They will then triple up to 6 coupons with a face value of UP TO $.50 each, thus equaling $1.50 off the item(s). This is still a great deal! Hope this helps.

Sunday Paper

In today's paper Giant is offering SIX triple coupons. This is big! You can get a paper for full price at Giant on Monday mornings if they have any left or at Dollar Tree for $1. If you need make-up, the sales at CVS for Cover Girl combined with manufacturer's coupons and extra bucks are exciting. Check it out.
If any of you are coupon happy like me, send me your game plan so I can get ideas!! I'm meeting with a friend tomorrow who will get me started on Rite Aid. This is serious! (ha ha...sort of)

Inexpensive Magazines

For anyone interested in a nice selection of magazines, most of which are $13, contact a Hershey Elementary student (they are fund-raising). I saw a magazine I've wanted for a LONG time for that price and thought it was a great deal. Magazines also make great Christmas and birthday gifts and it's that time of year again. The way it works is you order a subscription and the child is given a gift certificate which is given to you. You call a 1-800 number to get it started.

Just thought I should share this darling and way cheap little "no-sew tutu"tutorial project for any of you looking of a fast and inexpensive Halloween costume, Christmas gift, or just play time project. What little girl wouldn't LOVE one of these fun skirts. You can get the rolls of netting even at Wal-Mart.

U-pick Apples and Pumpkins

If you want a really fun time, a huge pumpkin patch, and great apples you pick off the tree, you must go here. Paulus orchards is the best orchard I have been to. They are so friendly and they offer a ton of fun stuff. Free tractor rides for the kids. A corn maze is also available for a fee. Apples are 11$ for half bushel. I highly recommend it! The pumpkins were very reasonably priced. Also they give you a red flyer wagon to pull your pumpkins in or a wheelbarrow. It is such a fun family activity. They are open every weekend through October. Each weekend a new variety of apple comes on. I would wait until early-mid Oct to go, then you will have a better selection of apple varieties. Its our favorite place this time of year. Have fun pickin!

The Cake Mix Extravaganza

Here are some pictures from this past Saturday's Cake Mix Extravaganza, where everyone's plates were piled higher than Mandy's here. Much, MUCH higher. And when I say "everyone's" I really mean "mine."

Alycia Randall won for Best Tasting with her Chocolate Carmel Cake, which was a tough win, as everything everyone made was super delicious.

Jenn Kasunick swept the other two categories: Best Presentation and Most Original with her replica of the Provo Temple. I believe while this picture was shot, she was saying "Will I need to meet with the Bishop tomorrow?" She was a little worried about cutting into it.

Runner up for...one of those categories (it could have been either, really!) was Jordan Duncan for her clever Halloween Pumpkin cake.


I vote we do this again. Because there's nothing wrong with having 18 pieces of cake for dinner once in awhile.

I noticed today that CVS in Hershey has a 50-75% off aisle. It's filled with random things. I was able to get an insulated lunch bag for Paul for about $2 and some Hannah Montana pens and other H.M. "junk" for .49 for stocking stuffers.

You might want want to go to Children's Place. They have 3 circular racks full of items for .99. I loaded up on gifts for my nephews! They had darling board shorts, solid shorts, t-shirts, collared t-shirts, short sleeved button-downs, athletic tank tops, coordinating athletic shorts, swim trunks, etc. It was so fun! They also have racks of girls clothes for .99 but they didn't persuade me to buy. Oh, they did have girls tights for .19 and that was great! Barbie Jeep & new battery $20

Hi everyone, I have a pink Power Wheels Barbie Jeep we're getting rid of. It has one battery in it & a charger as well as another brand new battery (still in the box) that I bought on Amazon for $55--I bought the new battery as my birthday present last year. :)

CVS deal on Flav-or-Ice

I was at the CVS next to Wal-Mart in Harrisburg today and saw these HUGE boxes of flav-or-ice that was priced at $14.99 with $5 in "Easy Care Bucks" (CVS money). I knew they were clearancing out the summer stuff so I asked at the counter to price them. Sure enough they were only $7.49. Then I asked aobut the $5 ecb and the box says it is an offer good until Dec of 08. I was thrilled since my family eats them like crazy (along with anyone that is at our house). So I bought 4 boxes (left 1 on the shelf) $20 in ecb did not print out, but because the box says it should, she gave me the $20 in real cash!! Bottom line, I bought 4 boxes of Flav-or-Ice pops for $10 instead of $60!! Did I mention that it is a box of 48-7 oz pops instead of 200- 1.5 oz. pops? If you are looking for them, DON'T go to the one in Hershey or the one by Wal-Mart in Harrisburg, they don't have them. It's worth checking another one for them though.

Also, CVS has Ragu Pasta sauce and Skippy PB at 3 for $5.00. If you buy $10 worth, you get $3 ecb back!

Autumn Day

Autumn Day at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown is the 20th from 10am-5pm. Apple and pumpkin picking is is every day except the 20th. Up to 15 pounds costs 60 cents per pound of apples, pumpkins or a combination of the two. Over 15 pounds costs 40 cents per pound. They'll give you a cute little red wagon to borrow and have complimentary boxes if you need them.

Pears

Does anyone want a 1/2 bushel of pears from Honeybear Orchard? It would cost only $7.00 for aobut 27ish pounds! We picked 4 boxes but I don't have the time to process them all so I've decided to give one up. It should can about 12 quarts or so and would need to be done tomorrow. It's taken them all week to ripen and I just don't have the time this week to do them, thought they would be ready days ago.

So I went into Joanns at jonestown road today for a few things. It is starting to get a little sparse. but EVERYTHING in the store is an additional 30% off the lowest ticketed price.
However they are NOT excepting any of the magazine clippers at this location because of the liquidation. (and you cannot return any of the items you buy at this location either.)
The new store at Colonial park isn't opening until October 10th (I think that's what she said?)
